The Lower East Side Tenants Union, then a fledgling project of the Good Old Lower East Side (GOLES), posted dozens of posters in or near buildings that it was trying to organize and deployed the posters at several public demonstrations. In addition, it placed a number of posters in the windows of neighborhood storefronts, produced t-shirts from the image (which members wear at protest actions today), and enlisted tenants to place posters in the windows of their apartments. The Tenants Union, having never had an organizational poster before, gained increased visibility, has grown in size, and is better positioned to continue its work in the future.
